Unveiling the “Global Developer-First Transactions - H1 2024” Report

Hello friend,

I hope you had a fantastic summer and got some well-deserved days off in your favourite place ☀️ On my side, I used the quieter summer weeks to crunch all the transactions involving developer-first startups globally in the first half of 2024. The result is the “Global Developer-First Transactions - H1 2024” report, the first-ever comprehensive analysis of the fundraising and M&A activities shaping the developer-first ecosystem.

For this report, I categorised developer-first companies into several key sectors pivotal to software creation, deployment, and management: AI, API, SaaS, Cloud, Data Management, DevOps, DevTool, Monitoring, Security, and Testing. This categorisation was inspired by Tyler Jewell's Developer-Led Landscape series.

In this report, I went through 201 global transactions, accounting for $8.5 billion of funds raised and $9.1 billion of disclosed M&A, to understand key trends behind the top transactions and provide insights into the evolving strategies of leading and emerging players within the developer-first community.

I will officially release the report to the general public next week, but as a trusted reader of this newsletter, you can access a beta version below (just use the address at which you received this email to log in).
